Chasing Waterfalls

Dry Falls

Dry Falls is a popular place in Highlands N.C. You can take the road from Dillard, Ga, go up to N.C., and then take Highland’s Road down to Franklin when you are done. There are some great shops in Franklin, like the Scottish Tartans, and it is also an easy place to find really good Mexican food. A lot of migrant workers have been coming to this area of the Appalachian Mountains for as long as I can remember, and are well established now. The produce in the area is good, the soil is rich and so the food is awesome in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing.

Bridal Veil Falls

Bridal Veil Falls, the veil was on but the driving privileges had been lifted so you couldn’t drive behind it, but you could still walk behind Dry Falls.

Darnell Falls (We always called it Darnell Falls, but it is apparently part of Kelly’s Creek.)

Angel Falls

Angel Falls was about a mile and a half walk to the second falls and then a bit further uphill to the third. It stinks being out of shape, and I would also recommend bringing water with you in the car. We did about 4 waterfalls in one day, and I was exhausted. Even though the water looks good, don’t drink directly from the creeks, unless Giardia is on your bucket list. Throw a bottled water in your backpack.

Lily even found a little angel of a moth on the way out.
